Your Waste, Your Responsibility

Waste cowboys could land you with a fine and a criminal record by illegally fly-tipping your waste. Fly-tipping is a widespread problem costing taxpayers over £150 million every year to clear up.

View our cautionary tale, “Dump It and Leg It” which shows fly-tipping treated how it should be…in court, an irresponsible householder and a rogue trader fall foul of the law and a fed up public.

As a house holder or business you are responsible for what happens to your waste even after it has left your premises. You must pass it on to your local authority or a waste carrier registered with the Environment Agency. If you do not take reasonable steps to do this you could be prosecuted which could lead to a fine of £5,000. Reduce fly-tipping by doing the right thing.
